Effective date: [DATE]. By using Dead Letter you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Dead Letter is a private writing space and an anonymous one-way letter exchange. Released letters are read once by one consenting stranger. There are no replies and no way to identify or contact any user.
You may release ordinary human emotion: grief, anger, regret, apology, gratitude, love. You may never release threats, harassment, sexual content involving minors, sexual content directed at the reader, identifying details about any person beyond a first name, instructions for violence or illegal acts, spam, or advertising. Every released letter passes an automated filter before any person can see it. Violations result in removal and a permanent block of the offending device from the exchange. Report any letter with one tap; one report removes it permanently.
Dead Letter is a writing ritual. It makes no medical, psychological, or therapeutic claims, and it is the wrong tool for an emergency. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (US) or your local emergency line.
The Lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase. The Annual membership is an auto-renewing subscription billed yearly; it renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends and is managed in your App Store account settings. Receiving letters never requires payment.
You own your words. By releasing a letter you grant us the limited license needed to store it until delivery, screen it for safety, and show it once to one reader, after which the text is deleted from our servers.
The service is provided as is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are liable only up to the amount you paid for the app in the previous 12 months.
